All the rest of our chicks were hatched in the incubator and raised in the brooder. I can't wait to see some mama-loved chickies running around the yard!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5116228047523448534.post-75751984851913055172011-05-21T15:38:50.266-07:002011-05-21T15:38:50.266-07:00I haven't got my own chooks yet but hope to la...I haven't got my own chooks yet but hope to later this year, until then I will live vicariously through yours :)
I am a new follower.elflynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14204266566501279332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5116228047523448534.post-79642128963770286512011-05-20T11:43:19.024-07:002011-05-20T11:43:19.024-07:00I ought to start a Chicken's Anonymous group. ...I ought to start a Chicken's Anonymous group. It's good to hear other folks out there have a lot of chickens too, even if not quite this many. Some are meat birds, so the population will be less by the Fall.

And silkies do indeed make great mothers. I had heard this before, and it is so true.

Happy chicken raising!Lara Katherine Mountain Colleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03207731383721498734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5116228047523448534.post-83490163307357065432011-05-20T10:15:49.781-07:002011-05-20T10:15:49.781-07:00We only have 40! She looks just like your silkie and is raising a set of Americauna peeps. She was so broody that she sat on a nest of phantom eggs for more than a month. We finally got some peeps and put them in a box for her. She went right too them! I really love silkies. They make such great mammas.Rachaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17386134788404742441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5116228047523448534.post-82214998746145740992011-05-19T07:44:01.351-07:002011-05-19T07:44:01.351-07:0062, holy cow!
